First reading

Rehearsals have begun!  We had our first table reading on Wednesday evening, and started working through some of the music.  Our cast is amazing:  Joseph Spieldenner (Paul), Katie Lee Hill (Allison), John Capes (Barry), Peter Gosik (Henry), Katie Bruestle (Rory), Zach Wobensmith (David), Lisha McKoy (Ann), Adam Machart (Adam) and Franca Vercelloni (Mrs. Goldman) belted out the second act opening number like they'd been singing it for years, and basically just knocked it out of the park.  All I have to do at this point is sit back and let them be awesome.  And build a set.  And buy a bunch of costumes.  And all our props.  And basically keep on top of all the administrative stuff.  But aside from those minor technicalities, my work is basically done.

Tiny milestones...

We just had our 3,000th page view here on the old Skyline blog.  And my goodness, you can't ALL be redirecting here from Russian porn sites, so that's something worth celebrating.

And we have a venue!

Now it can be told!  We will be at Venue 13 - Sheen Center - THE LORETTO.  It's a beautiful, brand-new space and I can't wait to help break it in.

Hey! We’re in the Fringe! (2014 Edition)

No, this isn't just a re-run of the last post.  We're in again, and this time we're actually doing it.  We got our notification a couple of weeks ago, and then literally about three days after that, I got slammed with an abscessed tooth that damn near killed me, and in all the hibbity-boo I totally forgot to mention it, but yeah!  And now the screaming starts.

I mean, not really.  I’m very excited and happy!  But I’ve never done a musical in the Fringe before, and the Fringe shows that I have done have been kinda stressful, and I’m trying not to freak out too much about it.  I’m especially trying not to freak out too much about the fact that the polar ice caps are about to end up coursing down the street in front of my house in Brooklyn, and that “Manhattan hurricane season” has not only become a thing, but that that thing seems to occur right around the middle of August, and I really don’t know if I could go through that again.  But still!  This show is finally getting a production, and that’s awesome.  More to come!  Keep watching this space.
